This week I’d like to welcome Paula from The Geeky Shopaholic to insignificant at best! Her blog is full of all kinds of fun stuff and interesting information! Paula is a self proclaimed Jared Padalecki fan, which I choose to overlook because we all know that Jensen Ackles is way hotter than Jared (though I must admit he’s not bad to look at either). Sometimes it’s okay to be wrong.
She is also a Hunger Games Trilogy fan, so it’s obvious not all of her taste is flawed.
Anyways, enough giving the poor girl a hard time. This is her first guest post ever, which is a true honor! So do me a favor, read her awesome guest post and go check out her blog! I promise you, you’ll enjoy both!
How do you see the world?
Words are so clear to me. My brain is a constantly writing. It might be a story, or a blog post, but it’s always something.
It’s been this way for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I was always writing adventures in my head, though I thought of it as daydreaming. I used characters that my Sister and I had created when we were playing. These characters got to do all the things I wanted to do in real life, like go to summer camp or discover Bigfoot.
I remember thinking how sad it would be when I had to grow up and give up my daydreams.
Except I never did. My daydreams just changed, as I realized what I was really doing. I was writing. Even when I’m thinking about events in my own life, it’s like I’m telling a story to someone. I guess it’s like I was blogging in my head, before I actually started blogging online. Because that’s just how I see the world – through words. Maybe some of you think I’m weird, but maybe some of you can relate.
I have to say that while words are clear to me, they don’t always come out of mouth as clearly as I would like. I sometimes stutter or mumble, especially if I am in a hurry. I like to think that my mouth just isn’t as fast as my brain.
Pictures, on the other hand, aren’t clear to me. People give me strange looks when I say this. Like the time one of my friends mentioned someone we hadn’t seen in a long time, “I always thought she was so pretty.” And I said, “I can’t really remember what she looks like. It’s been a while.” That’s when I got the weird look. But it was true. That girl was, and still is, fuzzy to me. If I don’t see you for a while, you’ll be fuzzy too.
When I run into someone I haven’t seen in a long time, I kind of have a panic attack. I know I should know them, but I’m not sure from where I know them. It’s very frustrating.
It is also frustrating when I am writing a story. Because I can’t always see my characters clearly, at least at first. But just like in real life, the more time I spend with a character the easier it is for me to see him.
Well, this is how I see the world, how do you see it? Through words, like me? Or pictures? Colors? I’m sure that there are perspectives that I’m overlooking. Let me know in the comments!

Paula, I’m just like you! I can write my thoughts out so much better than speaking them. Automated phone service to pay my water bill? Ok! My tounge has never kept up with my brain, so I hate talking on the phone, even to my mom. I am a visual person, but yes, I can barly remember what my sister-in-law looks like. Don’t tell anyone, but sometimes I like the movie over the book!
Great post…new follower!

This is so interesting to think about. I think I do both words and pictures. I’m a designer always getting pictures in my head, and I day dream a lot, with words and pictures together. I usually have no recollection of a moment that everyone can relay back to me so clearly, and they think I’m crazy for not remembering. It’s because I was day dreaming, and blocking everyone out. Facebook is the worst place for this, by the way. All of those High School people have so many memories they throw at me, and I can’t remember a thing.

I think that is part of why I have a hard time remembering things too! Because I was too busy daydreaming. My sister will often mention things from when we were kids and I can’t remember it at all. lol Thanks for commenting!
